Title: Etude de la vapeur d’eau det de ses isotologues deutérés dans les atmospheres riches en CO2
ABSTRACT
This thesis
tackles key challenges in spectroscopy for studying CO₂-rich planetary
atmospheres, such as those of Venus and Mars. Although present only in
trace amounts, water vapor — its abundance, vertical distribution, and
D/H isotopic ratio — is a crucial indicator for understanding these
atmospheres. The work experimentally investigates the line-shape
parameters of H₂O and HDO diluted in CO₂ using high-resolution
Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. It also examines the impact of
these new parameters on radiative transfer modeling in Venus’
atmosphere. Simulations reveal how using CO₂-specific collisional data
significantly alters water vapor spectral inversions. These findings
contribute directly to the scientific preparation of the upcoming European Space Agency - ESA space mission EnVision.
